Find by doing "About this Mac." from your Apple menu:Ģ) Have you installed any anti-virus software? (you don't have a virus)ģ) When did the computer last run in a manner you consider normal? The symptoms you describe suggest an unneeded software issue, not a hardware problem. We must rely on details from you to help is such a venue. We are handicapped here by having no capability to see or touch your computer. I still get amazing service from a well-treated 2012 Macbook Pro so I would say that idea is, at minimum, a premature assumption. Or is this a hardware issue? Thinking it might be cheaper and easier to just buy another laptop at this point. Is my laptop too old? It's only seven years old so I am a little surprised + dissapointed if this is the case. Doing so with all those problems is asking for more and possible even worse trouble. I desperately need to update my software - I cannot download anything, speed is horrible and finding general issues including possible viruses etcīest practice is to fix those issues BEFORE upgrading your macOS. ~ Perhaps something acquired in your Browser, likely. Rather unlikely any virus runs in your Mac.
